Living the WINE LIFE

THE MARKET IS THERE

Wine sales in America are up, and have been for fourteen years.

Wine is overtaking beer.  There’s a migration from beer/spirits to wine.  Pardon the cliché, but wine is at its tipping point.

And did we mention that it’s good for you?  Wine is health food.

This is happening right now.  Experts predict that the US will be the largest wine market in the world by the end of this decade

People who ask how much growth: just look at per capita consumption.

Americans drink about 2 gallons of wine a year.  That’s less than a glass of wine a week.

The French are at the top of the list at around twenty gallons a year, we’re not advocating that, but, it does mean that there’s plenty of room for growth.

NEW WINE MARKET, NEW CUSTOMERS,

NEW TRENDS

Most wine buyers describe themselves as novices.

The fastest growing segment is wine in a box.

Wine between $12 and $15 grew 95% in the last three years.

Women account for 55% of American wine purchases.

How long does the average wine buyer age wine before drinking?  Eight hours.

There are new trends in journalism focusing on average wine buyers.  Wines recommended in the Wall Street Journal are sold out NATIONALLY in literally days.  Think of the influence of using more media.

MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE

“Wine Life” is a natural place for advertisers to go that they do not really have right now.

The home improvement business has it.  Cooking has it.  Even automotive accessories have a natural place to advertise.

“Wine Life” will give the wine business a natural place to advertise too.
